Who We Are and What We Do
KEEPING THE GiRLiES SAFE 🍹
Girl, Watch Your Drink is built on one simple truth: awareness is power. This isn’t about living in fear or restricting activities you love — it’s about being safe, smart
& prepared.. We talk about real risks and real prevention in a way that’s practical, clear, and actually usable in real life.
Without fear, panic, or turning into a house hermit.
Founded by Sara Michaels after a personal incident in the Destin / 30A area this space was created after realizing the issue was bigger than one night — or one person. Girl Watch Your Drink exists to educate & provide practical resources and tools for individuals and local businesses. Because change doesn’t happen quietly — it happens when we pay attention, talk about it, and decide to do better together.

The Truth
GiRL TO GiRL 💅
We go out to have fun. Let our hair down. We assume we’re safe.
We don’t think it’ll happen to us. But the reality is, it happens everywhere
— more often than we realize, and usually when no one expects it.
and it's not limited to just alcohol. . . water & soda also.
This space exists to keep you & the girlies prepared so it doesn’t happen
— and to make sure you know exactly what to do if it ever does.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Sara Michaels, a business owner and mother of five based in the Destin and 30A area of Florida, went out for what was supposed to be a simple networking event.
At some point during the evening, her drink was spiked, and she was later found alone on a beach at 2 a.m.
In the hours that followed, confusion and lack of guidance led to a missed window to secure critical evidence; the kind that could have supported a criminal investigation. That experience revealed a gap far bigger than one night: most people don’t know what to do in that moment.
Now, Sara is dedicated to prevention, education, and awareness — creating tools and resources to help women (and men) stay safe, recognize warning signs, and take immediate action when something feels off.
iF YOU THiNK A DRiNK WAS SPiKED
STEP 1. GET TO A HOSPITAL IMMEDIATELY
You have a 4-6 hr window for the substance to show up
⚡️ TIP: Ask for an EXTENDED tox screen. Most basic tests will not test for specific substances unless requested.
STEP 2. CONTACT A LOCAL ADVOCATE
There are victim advocates locally.
Google "victim advocate near me" and reach out.
STEP 3. FILE A POLICE REPEORT
This is extremely important EVEN IF you aren't sure, or you don't know exactly what happened.
The only way to change is to bring awareness
if you believe you were a victim of a sexual assault
or you are unsure what happened, please contact a local victim or sexual assault program. We also recommend you seek a SANE exam from a local hospital - even if you aren't sure. This will help you have options in the future, should you want to pursue them.
